This popular southern holiday tradition illuminates neighborhoods by placing candles in white bags and placing them along streets and sidewalks for all to enjoy. Kick off the holiday season with the Greater Wildwood Jaycees Christmas Parade on Friday, December 6. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. at the North Wildwood Recreation Center 10th and Central Aves. Line-up will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the parade will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. The rain date will be Sunday, December 8.
The parade starts at 16th Avenue in North Wildwood and heads south along Central Avenue and Pacific Avenue through the Holly Beach Station Mall until Rio Grande Avenue in Wildwood. It then heads west towards New Jersey Avenue and back north to Oak Avenue then heads east ending to the Winter Festival at Byrne Plaza where the awards ceremony will be held, immediately following the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Trophies will be awarded to the following categories: Commercial, Community Service, Marching Bands Public Service and Individual/Small Group.

Participants are encouraged to dress in festive holiday outfits. The race route will run south on the Wildwoods Boardwalk to Cresse Avenue, make a turn around and head north to 21st Street. Another turn will lead runners back to the Convention Center where refreshments will be served and prizes awarded.
Runners and walkers along with their cheering sections can then enjoy the Holiday Bazaar held inside the Convention Center. Registration is $30 per person or $15 if you donate a new, unwrapped toy for local children in need.
