Virgin Hotel Las Vegas, located at the former Hard Rock Casino Hotel, opened March 25. Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment will operate the casino, marking its first entry into the Las Vegas market. To lead that effort, MGE has hired Joe Hasson, a longtime Station Casinos executive who ran Green Valley Ranch and most recently the Graton casino in California. Hasson explains how this opening is different from others in that he has an experienced employee pool and a focus on gaming only, as well as the deep database he can leverage from several sources. He spoke with Casino Connection and GGB Publisher Roger Gros via Zoom in early March.
